Benefits of Membership
Please become a member of the Gilford Islands Association (GIA). Together we will preserve the quality of life on our lake.
Most islanders are in residence only part of the year. The GIA keeps watch on state legislative activities and Gilford Town ordinance changes during the whole year so that we can alert you to issues that might be important to you.
As an organization representing many islanders, we can lobby more effectively for our interests.
We let you know what is going on through emails and newsletters.
We support other organizations dedicated to keeping our water clean and our lake free of invasive species.
We provide educational opportunities to learn more about the lake and the environment. For example, some recent programs included a presentation on eagles from the Audubon Society, a presentation from NH Lakes on water testing, a presentation from NH DES on changes to the Shoreland Protection Act and a presentation from the Lakes Region Conservation Trust.
We provide social activities so you can meet and learn about other fellow islanders. There is a spring luncheon meeting in March, an annual meeting in August and the association picnic also in August.
You will have access to our new website where you will find helpful information all in one place.
You will have privileged information available only to members on our website,
